In all the excitement of the weekend, I'm only just getting around to uploading the latest Twitquisite Corpse, 'Crumpled', that Wendy put together last week (sorry Wendy!).

Twitquisite Corpse 002 'Asleep'

My Twitter friend, Wendy Farrow (@wendyfarrowart) and I have invented a new art game, named 'Twitquisite Corpse' in homage to André Breton, whose Surrealist invention, 'Exquisite Corpse', is a clear precursor (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exquisite_corpse).

Wendy initially suggested combining my sketches of people on the Tube with my abstract photos of Underground wall textures, both featured earlier in this blog. In this, our second attempt, the method is really hitting its stride. Wendy selected the drawing and background from my archives and layered them together and we've batted the comp back and forth, tweaking it along the way.

Given that Wendy currently resides in Canada (we've never actually met in person) and is not entirely conversant with the London Underground system, the result is an uncannily accurate depiction of a stretch of the Northern Line at it's grimiest, a couple of years ago.

Wendy's own rather exquisite photographic and sculptural collage work, much of which features the area around her former home in Paris, can be seen here: http://www.wendyfarrow.com/index.html
